Dance of Death

Death can be both scary and peaceful, depending upon the person who is going to achieve it. Scary will it seem, when you are least expecting it; peaceful will it feel when you are exhausted with the intricacies and loathsomeness of life.

One moment you are here, watching TV; the next moment an earthquake hits the earth and Tsunami comes knocking at your door, even not knocking, it will break into your home without your permission. And then after some minutes, some CCTV camera will have you captured trying to swim through the heavy tides of the devastating Tsunami, taking refuge on a log. Some moments ago, you were watching TV, now you’re being watched on TV news channels, people sympathising, grieving, seeing your state of utter helplessness. That’s the moment when every beautiful moment of your life comes dancing before your eyes; images of your loved ones, of your children, of your wife, of your parents. Fragments of your memory lane keep hitting your consciousness until it doesn’t exist anymore.

But where does that consciousness go? This is one of the biggest mysteries of the universe. What is consciousness? How does it occur? What is that image that keeps appearing inside your mind all the time? How does it get processed? One thought after another, each time I close my eyes, some kind of imagery floats before my mind like some jellyfish inside a deep ocean. What are those images anyway? Who knows!

Sometimes, death is not sudden. It takes its time. Sometimes, it’s omnipresent, lurking around you all the time like a mosquito, waiting for its prey to come to a halt. You also realize that it’s there, beside you. But you still ignore it. You ignore the ugly truth that you may die at any moment.

Sometimes, you realize you are gonna die after some seconds. Well, that can be a very funny experience as you are seeing some weird and scary events unfolding before your naked eyes, the things you may have seen in movies, you are witnessing it now. You are witnessing the dance of death. Death is performing its prestige, the final act, right now, right here, right before you. It’s there, just some feet away from you. And it will take everything away from you, everything that you have ever achieved and desired for.

So, death has begun its dance. Make sure you don’t witness it.
