Portrait Of An Abstract Dream, Ep II

Ayumi submerged herself in the ocean of a deep slumber, lost in the underwater current, floating like a jellyfish. The jellyfish kept floating in the buoyancy of the deep waters, oblivious of its bluish vicinity. She didn’t have any true idea of its circumstances. Oblivion had her clenched with its tight fists, wrapping her soul with its thick canvas.

As she didn’t wake up in the next few minutes, I began to get dubious whether she would wake up now or not. So, I too got undressed and got myself back onto the bed beside her. The warmth of her naked body transferred to my body, heating up each part of me. Within a few seconds, my eyes also got entirely shut as I passed into the realm where Ayumi had already been for a few minutes now.

Beneath that calm and deep slumber arose an exotic dream; a dream filled with extremely surreal and abstract imagery. In the dream, I saw a jellyfish. With its wings like structures, it was hovering around in the deep ocean. This created an appealing scenery in itself. The whole scenic beauty of the jellyfish just floating in the waters made me wonder the beauty of this creation as a whole. But it was not only the jellyfish. The jellyfish possessed a face, and on that face was printed the face of Ayumi. I could see her utterly ecstatic, mystical face with a smile engraved on it. She looked happy. At least that much I know. I was always able to sense whether Ayumi was internally happy or not, just sensing the surrounding atmosphere. She had that mysterious aura around her. Despite that mysterious aura, I still was capable of penetrating through that impermeable wall of suppressed emotions. I could feel her breathing those heavy breaths when she was tensed out. I could feel her heart pumping faster when she was drenched in utmost horror or fright. Not only that, I could feel her shoulders relaxed when her inner soul was dancing with extreme jubilation and exhilaration.

So, her gaze hinted a sense of smile as she stared at me. I also returned her the smile. I hadn’t seen that happy face of Ayumi for a long time now. Lately, I had felt like she was somewhat lost. The Ayumi I once met, the Ayumi who would always dance around, laugh out loud without caring the surroundings, the Ayumi who would play pranks on me all the time, was now probably gone. She had lost some of her personality to some unknown entity lately. I had no idea how, but I was pretty sure, she was unable to retain that personality for some reason or the other. I could see her flesh and bones, but her soul, it had transported itself into some uncharted territory, waiting to be rescued. And I had to find it out. I had to bring my Ayumi back. To her fully living form. Or else, it wouldn’t be late until I lost her completely, within my own arms.
