Dark Horse Arts and Sciences

I spent some time in the darkness today. You know, just to experience that shadowy atmosphere surrounding me. That dull, creepy and wickedness of it really fascinate me to explore more of its shady nature. Darkness is not just the absence of light, but also the presence of something sinister and unknown. The unknown is the thing that puts everyone off-guard, however brave he or she is. Nobody wants to face an unknown force that lies beyond their own comprehension and perception. The darkness is just like that. Nobody knows what it makes so scary and hunting at times. There you are with your friend in a dark room, but you won’t experience even the slightest of fear. But once you are left all alone in a closed, isolated room filled with nothing but empty blackness, you will start shivering; your heart rate pumping faster than usual; your forehead getting drenched with sweat; it’s all the result of profound fright towards something unknown and untold.

I stood there for almost half an hour in that empty room expecting something to happen; something to emerge from those dark corners of nothingness. But nothing else surfaced, but an empty silence filled with voices that are way beyond my hearing perception. I was quite disappointed though, as I was expecting something really horrifying and unrealistic to happen in front of me. It’s not that I just stood there today out of nowhere; I’ve been visiting this place for almost one month now. I have been hoping to experience something visceral and extraordinary in the midst of my ordinary and monotonous life. But what I have got is nothing but a packet full of continuous disappointment and disarray.

I have really been curious lately about the paranormal and the unknown. I have never had any major experience with it. But I would love to have one, someday. I want that creepiness to unfold in front of me, taking me away from my own prison of narrow-mindedness and small perception. I want to explore that dimension of this universe; that dark yet fascinating corner that has eluded human beings for years now. I want to get lost in that world of otherworldliness and never ever come back again.
