MY SHORT TALE OF BEING AN ATHLETE

I kept playing sports all my life; not to get fit or famous; not to entertain anyone or make headlines in some local newspaper; but for the sake of playing itself. I carried on playing to kind of break free from all the ridiculousness and absurdity of my life; to radiate all the metabolism and energy gathering up inside; to have a kind of sense of what’s going on around me including all the chaos and confusions; to just keep playing without any particular reason at all; to have that tiny sense of exhilaration and excitement towards this dull and bleak life.

During this beautiful journey, I kept falling; kept getting injured time and again; but I didn’t stop. That zeal and enthusiasm never ceased to exist within me when it came to sports; hence I continued as long as I could. I still have long years of youth and adult life ahead of me; but I’m sure of one thing; I will never stop playing. I will keep playing whatever I can, even with a broken toe or a twisted ankle. I will keep playing even if it’s that hot summer afternoon or ice cold winter night; the journey will go on until my last breath.
